From the old manor Hove today only the gatehouse and the foundations with loopholes are preserved. On the foundations again a building was built.
The still preserved and restored gatehouse is the oldest building in the city of Bottrop.

The Hove House in Vonderort was probably built in the 13th century. It was a knight's seat surrounded by water. The double moat was fed by the Kornbecke. Dietrich von Vondern, née von Hove, was first mentioned in 1383. The name von Hove was probably used to distinguish them, as a relative with the same name was residing in Vondern Castle at the same time.
