I was able to have a really nice swim there after scratching my legs in the undergrowth while digging through the forest (jungle!).
There is a campsite next door and it seems that it is mainly full of nudists (naturalists). A few locals also went into the water naked at that spot.
But that suited me quite well, as I have no problem with nudism. So I adapted (when you're in Rome...) and had the advantage of not having to drive around in wet swimming trunks after splashing around.
