Hiking

The elderly linden tree underwent ongoing tree care measures, with branches being shortened or propped up to relieve the load. A severe fire crust fungus infestation weakened the natural monument. And after one of the large branches broke off, the tree threatened to topple over.

In October 2018, the tree was shortened to a height of 2.5 meters. In July 2019, the tree was further damaged by a deliberately set fire.

The final decision on the next steps remains pending.
