"The Old Harbor has been a berth for boats and ships for over a thousand years, and today locals and tourists can watch the hustle and bustle of it, with the traditional fish market held every weekend.

Hiking

The old port of Wismar was first mentioned in a document at the beginning of the 13th century, before the city was founded in 1226. During Wismar's membership in the Hanseatic League, it served as a transhipment point for a wide variety of sea goods. Intensive business relationships in export and import were maintained and led to constant growth of the port.
