The Col de la Forclaz is a nice passage at an altitude of 1,527 m. Presence of a restaurant, an alpine snack bar and a small supermarket. Free access fountain to fill your gourds and bottles.

Road cycling
The pass is heavily frequented by motorized vehicles and is therefore not a real cycling highlight. The inclines are moderate on both sides and the long straights invite you to descend quickly.

Good starting point for a hike with plenty of parking. The Mont de l'Arpille at 2085m with a beautiful view of the Rhone Valley is right next to it, or if you prefer something more leisurely, you can stroll a good 3 km down the bisse Trient-Combe to the Buvette du Glacier du Trient 👍🏻.
Destinations that are further away, such as the "Col de Balme" mule pass at 2203m to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in France, can also be easily reached from here.
