The Stuttgart Municipal Lapidarium is an idyllic open-air museum in the Karlshöhe district. It was created in 1905 by the industrialist Karl von Ostertag-Siegle as a private Renaissance garden with Italian influences. In 1950, the city bought the grounds and turned it into a public collection of over 200 historical stone monuments and rubble remnants from Stuttgart's city history.
