If you do not attach great importance to staying 100% on the Stockalperweg, you follow the forest path almost to the bottom in the gorge. This flows into a small street in the opposite side of the valley. The ascent to the Simplon pass road is much more pleasant and, above all, mobile. If you don't want that, just follow the trail through the gorge and then look forward to a steep climb including bike. ;-)
