This castle, possibly from the early Middle Ages, is said to have been in the possession of the Constance patrician Johannes von Schwarzach. Liebburg Castle, built in the second half of the 18th century, served as the summer residence of the bishops of Constance. In the course of secularization, the property came into private ownership in 1803.
