The former gravel lake in the Weseraue near Wietersheim has long since developed into a true natural paradise. Various species of birds can be observed on the small islands all year round, and they also breed there. I have enjoyed cycling the cycle path along this wonderful lake landscape for years. Even if the previously paved path was "shredded" years ago and has unfortunately been a gravel path since then. It is now reasonably easy to drive on again.
