This memorial stone with the bust and the plaque was erected on August 29, 1860.
The monument to Gebhard Lebrecht von Blucher (also called General Vorwärts later)
was dedicated by the Grand Duke Georg von Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
The board tells the story of the capture of 17-year-old Blucher
and the change from the Swedish to the Prussian army.
Blucher was captured and held in Galenbeck.
Blucher later helped to free Germany from Napoleonic rule.
This was especially true for the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
