This tree in the parsonage garden next to Flintbek Church is commonly referred to as the 1000 year old yew. Measurements have shown that the tree is around 880 years old. It is mentioned as early as 1223 in the documents relating to the construction of the church.
It is probably the oldest yew tree in Schleswig-Holstein.
The Flintbeker Yew (Common Yew - Latin name: Taxus baccata) has a trunk circumference of 3.80 m (measured at a height of 1 m)
