Former residence of the lord of Herenthout, located in the valley of the Wimp. Also called "Hof ten Hove". It is generally believed that the castle was built at the end of the 13th century, although some literature sources date the foundations to the 10th century. With mill house and beautiful park.

The moated castle, dating from the 13th century, is surrounded by a park. Nearby, on the Wimp, a tributary of the Grote Nete, is a watermill that has been out of use since 1846. The lock work and the 19th-century miller's house are worth a visit. In the vicinity of the castle with large ponds it is wonderful to walk. The castle itself is privately owned and not accessible. The domain and the watermill have been protected as a village view and as a monument since 1986.
