Laurenburg Castle, built around 1090 by Count Dudo von Laurenburg from the House of Nassau, is a hilltop castle 179 metres above Laurenburg Castle. It is now a ruin.
Laurenburg Castle was built around 1700 by the Princes of Anhalt-Bernberg-Schaumburg-Hoym as a summer residence.
In 1975 it became a curative education and nursing home.
