The current form of the main mill building was built between 1867 and 1870. The traces of Hoffmann's family history can be traced back to 1798. "Johann Christian Hoffmann, a miller from Schönfeld, once bought the Arnsdorfer estate for 1040 thaler. He had to pay 750 thaler for the property, the remaining 290 thaler went to the mill equipment",

Flour was actually still milled here until the 1940s. The Matzmühle has been a residential building for a long time. The water wheel was repaired by volunteers and is now running again
