Rare bird species such as the Grey Woodpecker, the Red-backed Shrike can be found here.
Endangered butterfly species such as the Spanish Flag and the Dark Large Blue are also among the protected assets of the NSG.
Among the floristic specialities, mention should be made of the burnt orchid, the dyer's alkanet and the dyer's broom, as well as the meadow sage, the woundwort, the small meadowsweet, the cowslip.
