The Morgensternteich is a facility of the former Morgenstern iron ore mine. The fishing club was founded on November 15th, 1952 in Groß Döhren and was initially called "Angler Interest Group Fortuna Gruben Groß Döhren"! Later then "Sports Anglers Interest Group Groß Döhren e.V." At the annual general meeting in 2016, the club name was unanimously changed to "Angelverein Morgenstern e.V." changed!
