Located on the border with Iparralde, Irun, it has been the scene of epic battles, which destroyed a large part of its heritage. However, its more than 2,000 years of history have left a unique architectural legacy worth visiting. In addition, beautiful mountains such as Peñas de Aia (837 m.) and Jaizkibel (545 m.), as well as the top of San Marcial, surround this Gipuzkoan municipality.

It is interesting to leave IRUN via the new footbridge that connects Santiago and Plaiaundi. In fact, on one of my routes I leave the centre of IRUN and go to Plaiaundi and take the new cycle path that takes me to Ficoba. From there I continue to Behobia I take a circular route along the Hendaya cycle path returning to Ficoba.
