The parish church planned by Fritz Schaller (architect of the Cologne cathedral slab) around Berrenrath, which was relocated by lignite mining, was inaugurated in 1957.

Hiking
Due to the resettlement of Berrenrath, because of the mining of brown coal, the church of St. Wendelinus was rebuilt here in 1957. St. Wendelinus was first mentioned earlier in 1298.
The old location is marked with a cross about 500m southwest of Lake Otto Maigler.
