The term "Wernloch" refers to several abandoned quarries near Wendelstein. The Wernloch 1236 was mentioned for the first time in a document. The sandstone mined here was used for numerous important buildings in Nuremberg, some of which were exported to Turkey and Hungary. Today you can go mountain biking in the area but also hike, in places it looks super rustic👍

On the trail section between Glasersberg and Wendelstein there are several small hills with roots and stones of different sizes and difficulties S1 - S3, beautiful trail section past the Wernloch. Fun is guaranteed.
