The 58 meter high "Hohe Berg" is the highest elevation in the Weser Marsh area around Bremen. The 13 meter high observation tower was built in 2010 as part of a student architecture competition. After mastering the 72 steps (you should be free from giddiness, as the view between the Stairs down is very nice ;-)) you have a wonderful view towards the Weser, Bremen and the Hachetal - and in general in all directions. At the foot of the tower is a former US anti-aircraft missile site.

The Hohe Berg was an anti-aircraft missile site during the Cold War. After the site was abandoned, the area was renaturalized. The Hohe Berg is the highest elevation between the North Sea and Lake Steinhude. From the observation tower, you can enjoy a fantastic view on clear days.

The Hohe Berg is located in the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park, on the northern edge of the Syker Geest, and is the highest elevation around Bremen in the eastern area of the Syker district of Ristedt. On a clear day you have a good view to the north as far as the Weser and the skyline of Bremen.
