In 1878, today's chapel was built as a photo studio on a private initiative by the Catholic layman Alfred Bode during the Prussian-Protestant Kulturkampf after a building application from the parish had been rejected. It is - at least in western Brandenburg - the oldest Catholic church in use. It was deconsecrated in 2010 and has been managed by a support association since 2014.
