The Bodetal is probably the most beautiful valley in the Harz and also ranks among the most beautiful gorges in Germany. In some places, it is also referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Harz. The granite rocks rise up to 280 meters high on the right and left of the river Bode. This river originates on the Brocken and carves an impressive path through granite and rock. The many rocks, smoothed by the rushing water, invite you to pause and cool your hot feet in many places.
