Moors are habitats – and important tools in the fight against climate change. Therefore, the Stapelfelder Moor was extensively renaturalized in 2021, and old, drained moorland areas were reclaimed. In the process, the paths for cyclists and hikers were also redesigned, as part of the old circular trail lies in the now renaturalized area. The new circular trail has been open since February 2022.

In 01/2021 the road was hardly passable with the bike (47mm MTB tires) despite the dryness. The surface was badly damaged by horses and looks like a potato field (see Wander POI in Komoot for a rough idea.
