The name Stadtkreuz Kapelle comes from the fact that the route into the city (meaning Wr. Neustadt) branched off here. "City cross" suggests that once there was only a cross or a wayside shrine - instead of a cross, a wayside shrine was erected around 1678.
What is striking about this chapel are the inclined supporting pillars on the back wall and the raised roof with a cross at its top. In the interior there is a heart Maria statue.
