Hiking

The 36-meter-high tower, still a landmark of the town of Geislingen today, was built around 1400 to protect the lower Helfenstein Castle. After the castle was demolished in 1552, the Ödenturm remained. Today it serves as an observation tower.

Open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From May to October, the tower room, which houses a small exhibition, can be climbed.

The Ödenturm is mentioned for the first time in the 14th century... It used to have a bell that was rung in case of danger. As a landmark of Geislingen, new lighting was donated in 2021 so that it can tower over Geislingen illuminated at night.
