A mixture of pig, newt, and starling: this is the Frankfurter GrünGürtel-Tier. Brought to paper in 2001 by its "discoverer", the caricaturist Robert-Gernhardt, it has since been developed by the cartoonist Philip Waechter. To the delight of many children who have come to know it as the mascot of the GrünGürtel.

The green belt animal (Dasipus frankonia), drawn by Robert Gernhardt, has been cast in bronze on the Robert Gernhardt Bridge in Bonames since 2007. It can also be found three times on the grounds of the MainÄppelHaus-Lohrberg in Seckbach and once on the bridge railing at the airport. The animal invented by Gernhard is a mixture of pig, newt and starling. Its fur is grass green and its preferred territory is the Frankfurt Green Belt.

The advantage of starting in the afternoon is that you have a nice afternoon mood at this point. The bridge leading to Old Bonames Airfield is very good for this at the end of February. The Nidda, the green belt animal and the sunset 🌅 simply wonderful 😎🙃. This place is recommended 👌
