Hiking

A slight ascent leads from the lake to the ruins. Castles know almost nothing about the earlier use of the Veste, but it is said to be the oldest castle in the Allgäu. Almost completely disintegrated, it now sits above the picturesque Hopfensee and you can enjoy a great view from it.

It is quite uphill on a gravel forest road. You will be compensated with a beautiful view of the Hopfensee. In the courtyard of the castle ruins are a wooden table and benches, where you can make a snack.
