The settlement of Wolfsfelden dates back to 1394. In 1900, the site, which had been bought by the forest administration two years earlier, was dragged to the foundations by order of the authorities. The reason for this may have been the fact that the tavern was a popular loophole for poachers, bird catchers and illegal trappers, as well as for students from nearby Erlangen who carried out their courses here. The pond was formerly used as a fish pond. In the 1980s the area was part of the military training area of the American armed forces.

Hut and lake with history. Today it serves more as a shelter for the homeless and hikers.
