The Cap Andritxol tower was built between 1579 and 1582, and was part of the defense line of the Majorcan coast. It was mainly used to monitor the proximity of enemy ships. In that case, smoke or fire signals were emitted, which were relayed from the next tower in sight to the control center in Palma.
