The small, functional building is located directly on the stream and at the edge of the forest, showing the technical infrastructure that is necessary in the remote high areas of the Wieslauftal valley.

The town of Althütte received a central water supply in 1938. Seven small springs were brought together and pumped into the high tank 103 meters higher to Althütte using the Lambach pump. It was powered by stream water, so no electricity was necessary.
