The Triftback actually carries Mangfall water, because it branches off to the left from the Mangfall above Bruckmühl. It then runs for about 12 kilometers at a varying distance of mostly less than half a kilometer next to the Mangfall to the east-southeast, flowing through Bruckmühl and the town of Bad Aibling. At its southern edge, it then flows back into the Mangfall just before the confluence with the Glonn. With the construction of the Triftbach, the delivery of driftwood for the wood-processing industries was simplified. The Triftbach is also used to generate electrical energy.

Hiking

The Mangfall is a 58 km long left tributary of the Inn in Upper Bavaria. It is the outflow of the Tegernsee and flows into the Inn in Rosenheim.
