The Duke Magnus Memorial has been commemorating the heroic death of Duke Magnus (1594–1622) in Württemberg since 1900. The battle took place in the surrounding fields on May 6, 1622. Here Catholics and Protestants were hostile to each other in the first phase of the Thirty Years War. The Protestants lost the battle then.
