Cycling

As early as 1919, the UMO built its first bicycle path, from the eastern edge of Utrecht to Bilthoven, parallel to Rijksweg 25. Just like the other bicycle path associations, the UMO also constructed separate cycle paths, both to better connect villages and to cover heathland and forest. accessible to the holiday maker. The UMO promised the cyclists 'Peace', 'tranquility', 'intimacy of the woods' and 'space on the large heath'. She promised to keep the paths free from "car rushing", "motorcycle running" and "annoyance from pedestrians blocking the road".
