    Hiking

It's a nice hike to this summit, but the visibility isn't great. The summit is overgrown with trees. But there are plenty of small branches in the area on the way to real "view points" with a very nice view of the Hundson Valley and the West Point military academy.

a.k.a. Bull Hill. The summit is about 1,421 ft. On a clear day, you can see the New York City skyline. There is a geological marker along the trail.

Embark on the Bull Hill Loop, a moderate hiking route spanning 5.3 miles (8.5 km) with a total elevation gain of 1330 feet (405 metres). You can expect to complete this journey in about 2 hours and 55 minutes. As you hike, you will navigate through mixed hardwood forests, encountering rocky paths and stone staircases that lead to expansive views of the Hudson River, Storm King Mountain, and Breakneck Ridge. The diverse terrain offers a rewarding experience for those seeking a challenging day out.

Planning your visit to the Bull Hill Loop is straightforward, though you should consider arriving early, especially on weekends, as parking lots tend to fill up quickly due to the trail's popularity and proximity to New York City. The route is generally well-marked with various colored blazes, making navigation simple. This makes it an accessible option for a day trip, but remember to account for potential crowds.

Beyond the scenic vistas, the Bull Hill Loop offers a glimpse into the region's past. You will pass a large, abandoned rock quarry, a testament to historical industry in the area. Further along, the trail leads you to the intriguing ruins of the Cornish Estate, adding a unique historical layer to your outdoor adventure. While the actual Bull Hill summit does not provide views, the trail itself delivers plenty of memorable panoramas.
