The imposing railway viaduct of the single-track Sonneberg-Eisfeld line spans the Teufelsgraben in Sonneberg-Mürschnitz with eight vaults, not far from the Sonneberg / West stop. In 1909 it was built as a sandstone-clad quarry stone construction over a length of 250m according to plans by the construction department of the Royal Railway Directorate in Erfurt. The viaduct shows very impressively how conventional railway bridges were built at the beginning of the 20th century. Today it is a cultural monument.
