The Keudelskuppe is a hill directly on the border with Hesse, on what was already the border of the Electorate of Mainz. This hill was intended to secure a castle under the administration of the Lords of Keudell. Below the hill was a settlement called Kywollsdorf, the exact location of which can no longer be determined. In a similar location, Bertlt Keudell eventually built a manor, from which he administered the area and the village of Hildebrandshausen from 1583 onwards. It was eventually expanded into a manor with an agricultural holding. The last people to live here were the family of Alexander von Keudell, together with 48 people. In 1945, they were expropriated and expelled. The manor house was allowed to fall into disrepair. The outbuildings, however, continued to be used until 1978. However, as it was increasingly suspected that it was a hiding place for refugees and that a clear line of sight and firing range was desired from the very nearby border, the remaining buildings were also demolished. Only a few ruins remain at this site, which can be explored via the heavily overgrown grassy path that runs around the former manor house. The ruins are not signposted directly on site, but there is an information board a little higher up on the path. There are also old photos on display.
