Formerly open during the summer period, this sheepfold is now permanently closed. However, crossing it remains a unique experience!

I initially tried staying at Refuge Tighiettu but they told me there were no more spare tents for hire so walked to Bergerie de Ballone instead and I'm so glad I did! I hired a tent and it came with an actual mini mattress and I slept really well. I had the best dinner on the trail and the staff were super super friendly. Also, HOT SHOWER! Great experience overall.
