Hut house of the New Hope of God's Mine Bräunsdorf Due to the constant extraction of ore in the first half of the 18th century, an impressive hut house was built around 1750. This relatively large building was built as a half-timbered structure on a solid basement, like the buildings in the mining village. In 1830, the hut house received a roof turret with a weather vane, which is still completely intact today. In fact, this building is one of the few in Saxony where the original external substance has been preserved and continues to be impeccably maintained for posterity. The flood damage that occurred in 2002 has been almost forgotten through extensive renovation! The hut house is also the only remaining surface building in the entire mining complex today, if you don't include the mining village in this thought! Apart from the silted-up mining canal, the fragments of the upper artificial ditch, some heaps in the farming village and the ponds that are still in use today, almost nothing remains of the mining. Even the spoil heaps at the artificial and driving shaft of the “New Hope of God” have disappeared over time.
