The estate grounds are without signs indicating that the private grounds may not be entered! The bridge on the way from the main road is badly dilapidated, but still holds! At the entrance gate to the courtyard, the names of the historical owners can be read.

If the poet is truly buried here, then it's in a very beautiful setting, fitting for him, with magnificent heathland. It's generally easy to get here by bike, as long as you don't expect a paved path; otherwise, you can push your bike a bit. This heathland isn't that big.

At the site of the former "Hansa" oil field near Hademstorf in the Allermarsch region, approximately 160,000 tons of crude oil were produced between 1941 and 1970. Today, two restored horsehead pumps, installed on the foundations of the "Hansa 6" and "Hansa 9" production sites, commemorate this technical history. The pumps were used to bring oil to the surface from depths of up to 1,350 meters. Together with the historic oil bridge, they represent significant evidence of the regional oil boom—well-documented by the Aller-Leine Valley Navigator and open to the public as a technical monument.

The war memorial in Bothmer was erected around 1920 as an obelisk-shaped monument made of fieldstone. Set within a landscaped and fenced area, it commemorates the fallen of the First World War with reliefs of an iron cross and a helmet decorated with oak leaves, whose names are inscribed on a granite slab. After the Second World War, a second plaque was added for the fallen and missing from 1939 to 1945. Today, the memorial enjoys protection as a historically significant individual monument.

The Cordinger Mühle, worth seeing, is a former water mill with a mill courtyard and ponds, located in the Warnau valley between Cordingen and Benefeld in the southwestern Lüneburger Heide. It was first mentioned in documents in 1661. The complex, restored in the 1980s, is considered one of the most valuable historical buildings in the Heidekreis district. The mill, built in 1810, was in operation until the 1950s. Today, the mill building is used for civil weddings by the city of Walsrode and is rented out for celebrations. In the miller's house, there is an exhibition with documents and manuscripts about and by Arno Schmidt. The writer lived with his wife from 1945 to 1950 on the then still fully operational mill farm; his first post-war stories Enthymesis, Gadir, Leviathan, and Brand’s Haide were written here. The Lower Saxony Mill Road (Niedersächsische Mühlenstraße) passes by the Cordinger Mühle. The rustic-looking mill grounds are very appealing in terms of landscape due to their location in the narrowest section of the Warnau valley, which is nearly 20 meters deep. It is also one of the starting points for the Eibia-Lohheide recreation area via the Arno-Schmidt-Pfad. Following the steep bank of the Warnau, you can also reach the Bomlitz archaeological hiking trail from here. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cordinger_M%C3%BChle
