Also known as Nils Göransson's Promenade, the lakeside promenade is an integral part of any stroll through the park and a visit to the castle. It runs between the small beach in front of the castle and a romantic seating area on a jetty over the lake.

The beach at Lake Edsviken blends beautifully into the parkland surrounding the castle. The fountain in the lake is a particular eye-catcher. An idyllic place to linger.

The sculpture of the Swedish actress Margaretha Krook is located at the south-west corner of the theatre. It contains heating coils to keep it at a constant 37°C, a ‘trick’ used to respect her wish not to have a statue erected because they are so cold.

What you should definitely visit in this district is the Fotografiska museum. It is housed in an Art Nouveau toll house from the early 1900s and is the museum for photography in Stockholm. The changing exhibitions are of high quality.

MARGARETA KROOK IS A WELL-KNOWN actress in Sweden, perhaps the country’s most well known. She played in dozens of films from the 1950s until her death in 2002 and also acted on stage many times. During her life, Krook was approached with numerous proposals for statues to be built in her honor, but declined them all, stating that statues are cold and uninviting. However, after her death, the theater wanted a statue but they did not want to go against her wishes. The theater found a loophole that technically allowed for a statue and was in line with Margareta’s wishes: a heated statue. The statue erected depicts Margareta in her favorite outfit and features a special coil to heat the statue to a comfy 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius). The statue was placed in the corner next to the theater at the spot where she would smoke her pre-show cigarette. Bron: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/margaret-krook-s-statue
