The best pasta in town, altough the portions are a bit too big for a mid-cycling lunch.

not too busy (but not quiet either), gently rolling hills, asphalt has plenty of cracks and potholes

It is somewhat unusual that the church tower is so far away from the church building.

section between Mellunmäentie and the Mustavuori underpass now fully open (construction ongoing until June 2025), a ~150 m gravel section in the middle still remaining, not too bad but watch out

rebuilt from the ground up this summer (further south or north you can see what this used to look like...), pretty good for a roadside path next to a former primary road (not hugely busy so for all-out efforts you may prefer it), flat to gently rolling, new asphalt throughout

for getting to/from this segment from/to central Helsinki, I’d recommend either the more direct https://www.komoot.com/highlight/6239009 (almost Komoot’s default route but especially Turunlinnantie is pretty bad), or the longer but more scenic https://www.komoot.com/highlight/6132508 (Komoot thinks cycling is not permitted somewhere on these routes for some unfathomable reason)

Porvoo Cathedral (Swedish Borgå domkyrka, Finnish Porvoon tuomiokirkko) in Porvoo, Finland (Swedish Borgå) is the episcopal church of the Swedish-speaking Evangelical Lutheran Diocese of Borgå. The brick gable is unplastered, the bell tower is free-standing. Around 200,000 tourists visit the cathedral every year. Next to the bell tower is a wooden church built in 1740 for the services of Finnish-speaking parishioners. The diocese was set up in 1723 after the Great Northern War, since Sweden had to cede Vyborg with the bishopric to Russia. The oldest parts of the cathedral - originally a wooden building - date from the 13th century. From 1410 the cathedral was expanded and rebuilt as a stone church. It was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It was destroyed by fire several times: in 1508 by the Danish army, in 1571, 1590 and 1708 by Russian forces. Source: wikipedia.org

Here's my tip: Park the car at the train station and walk the short distance across the old bridge into the heart of the old town. It's a great way to start your sightseeing! 👍
