Veldkruis: Genhout/Putbroekerweg/Manegeweg "Tössje Groat en klein veul ich mich toes " Explanation: In 2011 this new cross was placed; the previous cross stood with its back to the road; therefore, on the roadside, a corpus was attached that did not fit. See also under Extra photos. After the cross was destroyed again in 2023, it was repaired in 2024 by the working group Kruisen en Kapellen Spaubeek and replaced. Ommetje Genhout Find peace and contemplation with the Ommetje Genhout (also called the ‘Rondje Creativiteit’). This pleasant and varied walk of almost eight kilometers is one of the eleven camini’s, or short pilgrimage experiences with sayings and assignments specifically aimed at contemplation and awareness. The route takes you through the green and past the artists' church of Genhout, and along the historical border posts, where the dividing line between the former Spanish and Dutch Netherlands is still visible. Cave de Wittenberg is a wine shop passionately run by Frans Hawinkels. The name Cave de Wittenberg is derived from a large farmhouse, built in 1633 in Roermond, where Frans's father spent his youth. Large parts of the Roermond countryside still belonged to the Wittenberg back then, and even now this name in the center of Roermond still reminds us of it many times. Grandma's 'inheritance' was used for Margaux 1970. Soon many occasions became special, and today three-quarters of the wine cellar is filled with 'special occasions' !! The hobby slowly got out of hand, and wine actually had to be sold to sustain the hobby! From then on, much studying and tasting took place, together with many 'wine students' and true sommeliers to build up solid professional knowledge. Winemakers, the ultimate professionals, are still regularly visited and consulted. Ultimately, Cave de Wittenberg was created in 1988 to give you the opportunity to experience this unique way of dealing with wines. In 2001, we built a completely new wine cellar, naturally with a tasting room...... ! Source/info: https://www.cavedewittenberg.com/
