This well was built in 1551 on the orders of Maximiliaan van Bourgondië. He had promised Scottish wool merchants in Veere to provide drinking water and rinsing water for the wool. The water from the roof of the Grote Kerk is collected and filtered here. The capacity is 200 m³. The ribbed vault rests on the open sides of the octagon with Tudor arches on slender columns. A very beautiful mill on the outskirts of Veere. The mill in Veere is called De Koe and is located at Warwijcksestraat 16 in Veere. It is located on the former mill bastion in the west of Veere. It is a gallery mill from 1909, which was in operation until 1964. The mill was commissioned by Jacob Willem Markusse after his old mill, dating from 1736, burned down in 1907. The new building bears the name of the old mill. Source: entdecke-walcheren.de/taxonomy/term/57

One of the peninsula's most beautiful cycle paths starts here in Dishoek. It essentially runs from Vlissingen all the way up to Domburg, with short breaks in the villages in between. It goes through forests (cool in summer!), dunes, a lake, and even directly along the dike. Avoid rush hour on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays. This isn't a good idea, especially with children. At any other time, you can enjoy truly wonderful rides with young and old. The return journey can be made inland, where everything is also crisscrossed by cycle paths. The highlight is located in Dishoek – right next to a bicycle shop where you can get quick assistance, have a pump at the ready, and park a few meters away.

Given the flat terrain and coastal exposure, essential gear includes a well-maintained road bike, appropriate cycling apparel for varying weather (layers are often useful), a helmet, water bottles, and basic repair tools. Wind can be a factor, so consider a windbreaker. Sun protection is also advisable, especially on open dikes.
