The Dikke Molen (Fat Mill) was built in 1674, making it over 350 years old! It's a so-called ground-sailer; its sails graze the ground. Previously, the mill drained the Zuid- and Noordeinderpolder. Today, the mill is privately owned and can be visited by appointment.

This polder landscape boasts the world's only working windmill. Excess water from the polder is pumped into the Old Rhine by this windmill. This unique technical feat isn't the only thing you can enjoy; the view over the polder is also definitely worth it!

I'd cycled past this mill dozens of times, but I'd never walked here. It's a beautiful mill, but the outbuilding could use some renovation.
