The Werbellinsee is one of the most fascinating lakes in Brandenburg, located about 60 km northeast of Berlin in the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. It is not only a natural paradise, but also a place with an extremely dense historical and mythological charge.

Here you have a beautiful view of the lake.

This is not the entrance, of course, but the back of the large property, which the owners and hotel operators unfortunately keep inaccessible to hikers and day visitors. This beautiful gate is sadly locked.

The hotel dislikes hikers and day visitors and keeps the entrances to the private grounds locked. There are discouraging signs at the main entrance. One could probably venture right up to the hunting lodge, but even from the rear, one can get a glimpse of it. The wrought-iron gate is also impressive.
