Donated in 1953 by Michael Vornlocker. Michael Vornlocker from Burgebrach was stationed in Egypt during World War II. During an air raid, he was trapped and buried alive. After a fortunate rescue and release from captivity, he vowed that he would erect a cross if he returned home safe and sound. He returned safely and did not forget his vow.

The whole of Burgebrach is currently (summer 2024) a construction site. It's almost impossible to get through. It will be interesting to see what the town center will look like once it's finished :-)
