This rock spire juts out from the rugged northern flank of the Ochsenkamp, along the side of the path. It looks good compared to the Fockenstein, but doesn't look like an easy boulder.

As of April 2025, the area surrounding the forest has been largely deforested—it looks like a battlefield, and the forest roads are deeply damaged by heavy machinery...

Great view of Lake Tegernsee and the mountains beyond. A bench and several places to stretch your legs in the meadow.

Nice destination for anyone looking for a summit cross (Almkreuz) without a lot of hustle and bustle. The Alm originally belonged to the Tegernsee monastery and was first mentioned in documents in 1529. The last of the five old Alm buildings was demolished in 2018. The new building that was planned has not yet taken place. The Alm was not in use anyway. Various paths lead up from Bad Wiessee and Finsterwald, some of them are decent climbs with lots of roots. In terms of views, the nearby Hirschberg dominates. Continue to the Nesselscheibe.

Beautiful alpine pasture below Fockenstein. When the weather is good (unfortunately) it is usually very well attended 😉

A very beautiful hiking and biking trail: from the parking lot along the mountain stream, then there are several alternative routes that lead back down. Highly recommended!
