August 9, 2026, Old Bushmills Distillery

I can recommend the guided tour through the interesting and charming distillery, although it seems small compared to others. But the output of 9 million liters with about 100 employees is already remarkable. During the visit in summer 2024, another building was being constructed. An entrance fee of 9 euros was worth it for me. By the way, the village of Bushmills is chic, Dunluce Castle and the Giant's Causeway are just around the corner, which are already worth a detour.

The Old Bushmills Distillery is perhaps the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world โ€“ its license dates back to 1608. It was officially founded in 1784 by Hugh Anderson in the Northern Irish town of Bushmills. Since then, Bushmills has stood for traditionally triple-distilled, smooth Irish whiskey. Today, the distillery is one of Ireland's best-known names, combining centuries-old craftsmanship with a distinctive taste.
