The ascent via the saddle (AP) to the Jägerkreuz leads up a small, steeply ascending path, which requires a bit of scrambling that is fun. The ascent from the direction of Teufelsmühlstein leads uphill on a somewhat rugged stone path to the Jägerkreuz summit rock.

Kalteck is a 750 m high mountain saddle located between the Vogelsang and the Hirschenstein. In addition to a few residential buildings, there are also a few courtyards on the Kalteck. There used to be a mountain hotel here and there was a lot of skiing in winter. Skiing has always been a lot of fun. The mountain hotel is now a lost place. There are probably ideas to build a huge wellness hotel up here. I am excited.

Beautiful refuge not on the Hirschenstein, but below the Rauhen Kulm.
