The winegrowers' cooperative was founded in 1884 by Karl Benz. It comprises 30 wineries from Meersburg, Stetten, Bermatingen, and Wangen near Markdorf. The soils consist of calcareous soils composed of moraine gravel and sandy loam. The vineyards are located at Meersburg Sonnenufer (Großlage), Meersburg Fohrenberg, and Meersburg and Stettener Sängerhalde. The grape varieties planted and vinified are Müller-Thurgau (35%), Pinot Noir red wine (30%), Pinot Noir Weißherbst (15%), Pinot Gris/Ruländer (7%), Pinot Blanc (4%), Kerner (2%), Chardonnay (2%), Bacchus (3%), Dornfelder (1%), and Muscat (1%).
